How A warm cookie started a Real Estate dream and answered my prayers

These words were the motivation I needed to change lives - including yours.

I had been working on a job for almost 10 years. The position I was in was not one I wanted to take but there was this supervisor that thought I would be great for the position.

I put it off for 2 years then one day I decided I would take the job even though I knew it was something I really did not want to do. I was in this position for 3 long years. I hated my job. I prayed and prayed for a change, a sign or anything. I even applied for other jobs. Nothing. I dragged myself to work every morning trying to be positive.

Each morning I read a daily bible verse or something motivational to keep me going. I also read motivation articles, posts online and books. Then one day I was reading and saw the quote by Maya Angelou,

“If you do not like what you are doing change it.” That was my AH HA moment. I decided that day I was going to get my real estate license because I knew one day, I want to eventually do rental investment. I always wanted to have my own business but did not know for sure what type of business.

I told myself, l have a job, work from home, good pay, no weekends, and great benefits. I was miserable.Then one day, l got a call from a member who complained abou the staff not knowing how to warm his cookie. I thought to myself, is this what my life has come to? I am actually listening to someone complaining for an hour about a cookie not being warm.

I told my mom what I wanted to do, and she thought real estate would be great for me. She told me she started years ago working on becoming a real estate agent and had to stop. I thought about all the things she said she wanted to do but never did it. Now she is saying she is too old to do any of those things. I was thinking I do not want to be saying that. I must go for it. So, I can say I did it. I started a real estate course then I realized this is a lot to learn while I am working a fulltime job that is stressing me out. Now this was in June of 2019.

I prayed asking God is this something I should be doing. Well in 2020 when COVID had everything shut down I was laid off. And this is when I finished my courses and got my real estate license in December of 2020. This is when C Amazing Homes was born.
